Senate Bill 5732 - Washington State
In January 2022, Senator Mona Das, Liz Lovelett, Joe Nguyen, and Rebecca Saldaña submitted senate bill 5732 in Washington State. This bill would require all new large commercial and multifamily buildings in the State of Washington to have green roofs and solar panel energy generation on their roofs.

Public School Green Rooftop Program Bill (H.R. 1863)
Green Roofs for Healthy Cities (GRHC) and the Green Infrastructure Foundation (GIF) have put together resources to provide more information on the proposed Public School Green Rooftop Program Bill (H.R. 1863) sponsored by Representative Nydia Velázquez (D-NY) of New York. The resources below demonstrate the relevance and importance of including H.R 1863 in President Biden’s American Jobs Plan legislation – addressing climate change equitably, providing local employment, implementing green infrastructure and supporting the development of the labor force. This bill will be reintroduced in the near future.
