Vancouver Green Roof Symposium
The City of Vancouver has set ambitious targets of making all new buildings "carbon neutral" by 2030 and for managing rainwater on site through its RainCity Strategy. To meet these targets the city has implemented green building programs that include the promotion of Green Roofs in Vancouver.
Join us for this in person symposium as we showcase best practices in green roof design, maintenance and policy making on the West Coast.

Green Roof Success : From Design through Maintenance Virtual Symposium
In partnership with Green Roof info Think Tank, this day-long virtual event will dive into best practices for long-term, thriving green roofs. Expert presenters will be focusing on designing the roof for maintenance, and discussing what is typically seen during maintenance on existing Portland green roofs of all ages and types. We will also address inequity in green infrastructure, how to survive the value engineering process, and we will have multiple short-videos on a variety of unique approaches to green roof design from local practitioners.
April 29th (Virtual) - The ticketed portion of the Virtual Symposium. All programming will take place virtually through Zoom from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM PT.
April 30th (In-Person) - The un-ticketed portion of the symposium. Self Guided Tours will be hosted from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM PT. For those that attend the Virtual Symposium and the Self Guided Tours, there will be an In-Person Happy Hour at Shine Distillery from 3:30 PM - 5:50 PM PT.

There are 14 different patterns of biophilic design that include everything from light and sound to how items are arranged in a space.
