The Green Roof Accreditation Program is designed for individuals who want a career in this prosperous, expanding industry. Architects, landscape architects, engineers, developers, builders, designers, roofers, horticulturalists, general contractors … all will benefit from understanding the complex requirements of installation. The full accreditation program will be rolled out in the spring of 2009. Currently, three of the four requisite courses are available. The fourth course, Design for Plants and Growing Medium -- 401, will be launched in the spring of 2008.

Design 101 Introductory Course (2nd
Edition) This Introductory Course teaches you about the components and benefits of green roofs, how to design a project for maximum client benefits, how to cost estimate for different types of projects, how to incorporate important design principles and design for maximum LEED credits. This course includes the most up-to-date green roof research and design practices as well as award winning case studies from this rapidly expanding industry. Tuition: $395.00 |

Design and Installation -- 201Design 201 covers in detail the many different steps that must be understood and incorporated into any successful green roof design and implementation, including actors’ roles and responsibilities, construction contracts and their administration, and how to avoid common installation errors. This course is suited to those who have already taken Design 101 or who already have a good general understanding of green roof design. Tuition: $395.00 |
